Teatro do mar: insomnio
Sat 12 Oct, 7.30pm
Duration: 40 mins
October is Mental Health Awareness month and to mark this, Bell Square will be presenting two events that look at different aspects of mental health, through performance, discussion and an interactive installation. Find out more about the shows and why we’re marking mental health awareness month in our artistic director’s blog here.
This first show is a thought provoking and highly dramatic reflection on sleep… and the lack of it in our modern world.
It uses acrobatics, video, original music and physical theatre to explore the world of insomnia, with a giant bed as a dramatic centrepiece.
The show premiered in 2018 and is brought to Bell Square by Portuguese company Teatro do Mar whose work looks at the way humans cope with the progress of the world around them. They have performed at hundreds of festivals throughout Europe and this promises to be a very special evening show at Bell Square.
The second show in Bell Square’s response to Mental Health Awareness Month is Sadhana Dance’s Unkindest Cut. Please click here to find out more.
