LA TRIOCHKA (MONTPELLIER, FRANCE) – TOP DOWN
Bell Square Calling Conversation 1, 4.15pm - Join the conversation as artists and practitioners discuss outdoor performance.
Top Down takes a very different look at power, status, and the roles we play every day — literally turning things upside down through jaw-dropping acrobatics. Three performers constantly shift the balance, lifting, flying and catching one another while questioning who holds power at any given moment. Through extraordinary strength, precision and Icarian games, they blur the lines between control and chaos. Top Down is a tour de force. Smart, striking, and seriously impressive this is circus that makes you look twice. Up. Down. Nothing is quite what it seems.
Top Down questions roles, the places we take and the places we leave behind, it talks about the relations of domination and submission in the social field, whether at work or in everyday life. In the universe where the relationships are dominated by the laws of a restrictive hierarchy, the slightest breach can create the possibility for change. Presenting a leg, extending a hand, smiling, become multiples invitations to dare.
