TOC de FUSTA : Els amics d’en Crusó
A mini-festival of Catalan street games that encourages interaction and participation.
After the shipwreck, sad and alone on an island, Crusó was bored, but fortunately he had the wreckage with him and all the time in the world…
Els amics d’en Crusó is a wonderful experience for all ages, an open area where you can discover and experiment with automata and their mechanisms. An interactive installation in which daring or people of a more laid-back nature will be able to find and follow their curiosity without any need for instructions.
Large scale automata, brain teasers and mechanical games that motivate small automata and a play area for younger children of 2 years and over.
About Toc De Fusta:
In 2010, a group of friends from Les Avellanes decided to reinvent their lives and organise themselves to do different things in a different way.
‘We want to work with wood and create large format automatons. We want to play and make you play with their mechanisms. We want to bring to squares and streets the little puzzles we try to solve when constructing an automaton. And we do it for the young ones, without forgetting that sometimes we all would love to go back in time and become a child again.’
After talking for hours around a table and filling some notebooks full of outlines, we decided to restore Albert’s father’s old carpentry workshop in Les Avellanes and start carving wood to make the prototype of a huge bird, taking them to the 2012 ‘Festival Internacional de las Artes‘ in Costa Rica, where they first showed a collection of 6 large format automatons.
